CONSTELLATIONS

“Constellations” is a poetic two-hander that explores themes of love, destiny, and life’s inevitable ending in a nonlinear narrative and a repeated structure. This design abstracts a dance studio, where many pivotal moments in the play take place, as the key environment. On stage, the two characters engage in a waltz through life. At the center, a turntable that symbolizes the relentless passage of time rotates from the moment of the characters’ first encounter and only pauses at a flashback. The lovers revolve around the four frames, navigating through different possibilities, and experiencing their different outcomes. Their physical, emotional, and temporal movements, sometimes in harmony and at other times out of sync, are the perfect illustration of every meaningful relationship we have in life.
